I stared at my hands in the bright sunlight,

 I stared some more under a flash bulb.

I aimed the spotlight at my palms and was finally able to see the tiny lines cutting across each other.

They told tales of every thought that ever crossed my mind.

Revealing a life I had been walking around with, clenched tightly in my fists.

Glowing like neon marks.

Each line speaking of where I had gone wrong,

Of impulsive decisions and thoughtless actions.

All connected to each other, in a web of consequences..

And the line that ended on the mound of venus, the highest high.

And that is where I stand right now,

enlightened even in blinding darkness,

And from here on…there shall be light.
