Today
He will look across the wall
at the other
the shadow
that was once a person

They don’t talk much
Not at all infact
And exist only in disjointed halves
that don’t fit

They know each other
but see just the wall
and hear footsteps
arriving and leaving

They hear voices
songs, laughter
But from within silence
that stays on
when the voices and the songs and the laughter
have left.

Today he will walk upto the wall
feel the bricks
maybe they will give away
He will tip toe and look
maybe
the other will be there..too
trying to catch a glimpse of
him.
