A raindrop falls,
hits the ground,
disintegrates
and is no more.
The last light of the day leaves
Imagine a home in the country
Imagine a garden, rose beds
Think of the sun in the flowers,
Imagine your children playing,
Carefree and happy.
Are the seams in your shirt straight?
Imagine a girl who wanted to live…
Perhaps, just like you and me
And, as you sit now in you chair and read this
She is no more.
I have heard of Auschwitz,
Where smell of death hangs in the air
Where men, women, children were once burnt alive
Auschwitz is still alive,
In a country with gardens and rose beds,
In a country with sun in the flowers
In a country where she is still alive
To meet a million more deaths.
