I have been wanting to make something with kala /Goda masala and finally the recipe is here. One of my dear friends brought me Goda masala from Pune. I thought of making Maharashtrian curry or missal. Goda masala has a lovely aroma and is a blend of all sorts of amazing spices. So today I decided to make mix sprout curry with it and to my surprise it turned out amazing. Enjoy this spicy and tangy curry!
Ingredients:
1 cup …… Boiled mixed sprouts
1 Tsp ….. Red chili sarlic paste
1 Tsp …… Green chili and ginger paste
1 Tbsp ……. Sesame seeds
1 Tsp ………… Maharashtrian  Goda masala
1 Tsp …………. Turmeric powder
1 Tsp ……….. Cumin seeds
1/2 Tsp …………….. Asafoetida (Hing)
1 Tbsp …. Sugar
1 Tsp ……. Lemon juice
1 Big onion chopped
Few curry leaves
2 whole red chilies
1 Tbsp …………  Oil
Haldiram’s mixture
Salt to taste
Method :
  • Heat oil in a pan.  Add cumin seeds, asafoetida , dried red chilies and curry leaves.
  • Mix all the dry masalas (Goda masala/ turmeric powder/ sesame seeds)  in a half cup water , make sure no lumps are formed. Now add them to the pan with chili garlic paste
  • Mix the spices well till oil comes out
  • Now add the boiled sprouts , add salt , sugar , chili and ginger paste and lemon juice
  • Add 1 cup water
  • Mix well and cook with lid covered for five mins.
  • Sprinkle chopped onions , coriander leaves and Haldiram’s  mixture.
  • Ready to eat !! (make sure you add onions, and dried mixture just before serving)
  • And it can be eaten with paratha or rice. Enjoy !
