Standing there, ankle deep in water
with cool breeze caressing my cheeks
I felt myself shiver
It has been days, probably weeks
It is time, I realised with a sigh
to be something more than a beautiful dreamer
Yes, it is time to try
to rewrite the fate of a lone sailor
Questions exploded in my head
reasons not to go ahead with my decision
filling my heart with dread
For a second it blurred my vision
No, not again!
It is the risk worth taking
And I would accept the pain
Or how can I be a part of this making
Yes there would be no one around to save
and no place to hide, happy and warm
but then what’s the fun without a wave
where’s the experience without a storm
I felt much stronger
ready for a wonderful journey
ready for a real adventure
for all the cruelty, and all the beauty
The ocean called out to me in her own style
And I took a moment to savor
am comin’, I told her with a smile
setting out to ride the waves, ready to conquer!
