Mr Shambles is
as brilliant as can be
Builds castles in the air
to which he’s lost the key
He sells dreams for a living
You can buy them for free
Hears voices in his cranium
when he’s high on cold coffee
Mr Shambles knows
too much for his own good
5-year-old and wise old man
inhabit the same hee-hee-hood
He’ll tell you a story
that begins at the end
The middle’s gone a missing
to meet a childhood friend
His doodles are demonic
as haunting as the sea
His rhymes are probably borrowed
from the land of make believe
Mr Shambles loves
to join dots, only he can see
Like he’ll tell you when you meet him
“Oooh, you’re just like me!”
He knows the words
to a thousand and eleven songs
Some of which you’ve never heard,
Some are just plain weird
Japanese crabs eat noodles
On a comet by the sea
Drown their sorrows in the stars
Prefer wine to whiskey
Oh! Mr Shambles
I wonder where you be…
Are your shoelaces untied?
Are you missing me?
