I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in. –George Washington Carver
It happens every day; everywhere. You can’t miss it, unless of course your eyes are shut, or if you live under a rock. It lasts for only a couple of minutes, but is yet described as one of nature’s finest wonders. You can’t ever defeat it. Nothing that can stop it. What am I raving about? A sunrise, of course.
So if it is so routine, why is it so miraculous? If we miss it once, we know we can catch it the next day. But when we can’t catch it, caught up as we are in mundane things, we yearn for a morning to sit and cuddle up our loved ones and watch the sun rise and brighten up our sky. What’s that feeling we get as we watch the sky turn from black to a dark blue to a wondrous orange and ultimately a light blue? You can even close your eyes, and yet soak in its beauty with the warm rays slowly caressing your body. Perhaps the beauty lies in its generous immensity that humbles us.
As the sun lights up the sky, it slowly reveals our surroundings, brings light to the darkest of nights and even gives a terminally ill patient the satisfaction of having gotten through another whole day.
What is almost charming is the fact that of all of nature’s wonders, God chose to make this one accessible to everyone who has a pair of eyes. All of humanity. To each one of us. Just like that. So it’s true then – the best things in life are free.
good one Faye!
