It is really upsetting to hear Kiran Bedi’s language and public statements like, “When the resolution is passed, the parliament will become a Pavitra Mandir.”

The parliament is NOT a mandir, Madam, it is an institution. A democratic institution which has rules that must be obeyed. To say “jab tak resolution pass nahi hota , yahaan se koi nahi hilega” is unfair, even cruel, to the very people that have supported the movement.

Madam has told people to expect a resolution. So, how will they react when there is no resolution right now or tomorrow? Yes,  if you want to bring down a government- do so, by all means, even extra-constitutional ones but please  have some respect for, some concern for the safety of the people who came out with those placards because they trusted you.

To say things like “iss yagna mein Aahuti..” when this morning a protestor has already tried self-immolation is downright irresponsible of Ms Bedi.

And when statements like “Praarthana kare” and “Yeh DHARMAYUDDH hai” are thrown around, what does it mean ?

All of you well-meaning people who have smsed, facebooked, gone for candle marches, I respect your feelings. Of course, we all hate corruption.

Of course, the movement should continue. But the hysteria should stop now.  If you are the kind of person that people listen to, please make an appeal to your friends.

A responsible leader should break the fast, assure his emotional supporters of his well-being, and that talks have begun, and allow them to go back to their work, their life.

Maybe I am paranoid, but  I must confess that am anxious that this will erupt into violence. Municipal school teachers have been informally ordered by the BJP to herd students to the Ramlila Maidan where a reporter was attacked by the protestors today. Where an inebriated group in the mob rose against some policemen.

The children stand there in their uniforms.

Kiran Bedi continues to whip up frenzy.
