A golden haze surrounds Dia Mirza these days. Its the visible, palpable joy of being part of a film she has long waited for. A film she knew she wanted to be a part of even before it was dreamt. Love BreakUps Zindagi is special for her not just because it is her first attempt at production but because this is her first attempt to test beliefs that she has lived her life by. The belief that a well-intentioned initiative will find people who believe in it. And that goodwill is infectious and has a resonance. The film is close to her heart because in a casual voice, it addresses real, complex choices faced by today’s generation. And outlines the quest for love in a world where relationships come with no guarantees.
All the publicity campaigns before the release of the film have been collaborative efforts with lead actors like Dia, Zayed Khan (also the co-producer of the film), Cyrus Sahukar, Umang Jain, Vaibhav Talwar, Satyadip Misra, Pallavi Sharda and Auritra Ghosh and also debutant director Salil Sangha sharing their experiences while shooting the film on real locations in a start-to-finish 90-day shoot. Also part of the video diaries is the crew constituting passionate men and women who have worked behind the scenes to nourish the film.
“If a team works as a team, it shows,” believes Dia. And the most rewarding experience has been the creative autonomy and synergy she and the LBZ team have enjoyed while ideating and executing every little nuance. Be it looking for locations, firming up the art direction template, doing a theatre workshop with Barry John or shooting for long hours and sharing the highs and the lows.
The film releases on October 7, 2011 and the buzz around it is everything Dia had hoped for.The zesty, refreshing promos have attracted much attention on social networking sites and the film’s aesthetics, sensibilities and emotional core seem to reflect the vision of the team behind it.
Now it is time for the audience to give their verdict.
