After the acclaimed film, Shuruaat Ka Interval, Humaramovie, a cutting-edge digital content studio is now back with their second feature tentatively titled, Shor Se Shuruaat, as part of the initiative Shuruaat, an annual one-of-a-kind mentored short film competition. 

Shor Se Shuruaat, is an anthology of 8 short films based on a common theme, Shor (Noise), which will be directed by the debutant protégés of renowned filmmakers, Shyam Benegal, Imtiaz Ali, Raju Hirani, Mira Nair, Zoya Akhtar, Sriram Raghavan, Nagesh Kukunoor and Homi Adajania.

Each mentor has nominated a protégé to direct a short film on the theme ‘Shor’ (Noise). Each film will be unique in its own way depending on the filmmaker’s interpretation of the theme.The 8 short films will range from 12 – 15 minutes and will be compiled to make a feature that will have a theatrical release later this year.   Shor Se Shuruaat will be a launchpad for not only assistant directors but also editors, cinematographers, executive producers and other technicians.

Launched by the founders of Humaramovie, Preety Ali, Pallavi Rohatgi and Vinay Mishra in 2014, Shuruaat is an initiative to provide the next generation of Indian filmmakers a chance to showcase their work on the big screen. A competition for only debutante unreleased filmmakers; Shuruaat not only provides a distribution platform across theatres, satellite and digital but also mentorship and guidance under some of the stalwarts of Indian film industry.

The first anthology Shuruaat Ka Interval was launched in 2014, which brought together four directors, Imtiaz Ali, Anand Gandhi, Vikramaditya Motwane and Vikas Bahl, who guided their assistants to make a film on the common theme Interval that released theatrically to rave reviews across five cities on 15 August 2014. The film later successfully aired on Netflix, Hotstar, and I-Tunes. It is also currently in the top 15 Hindi movies of 2014 on IMDB
